In our Skillmaster class, players will continue to become more proficient with their strong hands while incorporating weak-handed stick skills. A key point of emphasis in this class will be incorporating their ability to pass and catch with a teammate in motion. Players should expect to learn different ways to: receive a pass from a teammate, move after they pass the ball, and how to get open in order to receive a pass from a teammate. In addition we will begin to teach different two-man game movements like give and go’s, backdoor cuts, draw and dumps and the best ways to defend each of them. On top of continuing to focus on individual skills; players will be introduced to 2v2 concepts ultimately working from each side of the field. SHOOTING & DODGING - LEVEL 1

Our fundamental shooting class that focuses on what it takes to become a great shooter and dodger. Players will be taught proper throwing/shooting forms and how to generate more power in their shots. Learning the correct footwork for each dodge (split, jab, roll, face) starting at a slow pace is critical before progressing into full speed. In order to become strong dodgers we believe that it is important that players have the proper footwork and technique before ultimately incorporating the upper body and the proper shooting form. In one of our classes players can expect to take close to 150 shots or more while being challenged by our coaches to focus on their accuracy and power. Prerequisites: Core 1 Foundations Please note that players need all equipment for this class: Boys (helmet, gloves, arm pads, shoulder pads and a stick), Girls (stick, goggles and mouthguard).

Time will also be spent on the development of weak hand shooting form and velocity. The focus will shift to adding combination dodges, re-dodges, roll aways and setting up a shot off of a pass or initial dodge. Players will get the chance to work in two or three person groups when taking this class which will mimic certain movement patterns. This is important in understanding how and where they should be receiving passes in order to set themselves up for the most success. We will focus on picking and how to receive a pass for a shot off the pick. Which hand to have your stick in on cuts and different areas of the field. GOALIE TRAINING

BBL's progressive academy is designed to develop goaltenders of all ages. This unique program addresses the specific training needs of each goalie. Classes will begin with goalie specific strength and conditioning drills to create a more athletic and explosive goalie in the crease, followed by skill development. The skill curriculum is cutting edge and focuses on the CORE 4 skills needed to play goalie at the next level. 1. Stance and body positioning 2. Arc play 3. Evolution of the Step 4. Clearing and Communication. In addition to building a better "stopper" we also focus on areas outside of the crease: athleticism, leadership, communication, and Lax IQ--- qualities that college coaches use to differentiate a blue chip prospect vs a regular collegiate prospect. If group and field size allow, we also will add small sided 2-way games which work on transition play, clearing and riding including two-way 3v3 games (like basketball), 1-2-1, 2-1-2, and 2-2-2s.
